PHILADELPHIA, March 30

Florida hip hop artist Trick Daddy today surprised fans with his
announcement that he is working on an album with Philadelphia
artists the Roots.

The new LP, "Like Water for Chickenheads," explores Trick Daddy's
more spiritual side.

"Yeah, I just wanted to get into my more introspectumative side,
you know. I got songs like "I Used to Love H.O.E.S" which is like
about how I used to get brain from this ho but it's like a
metaphor for like life. We got Erykah on the hook. And then we
got a Slum Village remix of "Nann," which is some nice ish, with
like these smooth Fender Rhodes organ sounds and we got Bahamadia
on there instead of Trina. Jay-Dee and the Roots is opening me up
to all these new sounds, like using a fake Fender keyboard sound,
a fake Hammond keyboard sound, and many other kinds of fake
keyboard sounds that you can get on a Korg. Shit is real hot."

As expected, drummer Questlove is playing on all tracks on the
album. He comments, "Well, actually, I just hit each drum once
and sample it, but it has to be a drum hit from me. I pour peanut
butter all over my snare and put a live weasel in my kick drum to
get that classic sound."

Trick Daddy will also relocate to Philadelphia and begin dating
an earthy r ∓ b singer. "Yo, Macy Gray, is she taken?" he
inquired.

Roots fans found online at okayplayer.com are ecstatic. "I never
listened to Trick Daddy before, but now that he's in the lab with
the Roots I know he'll be coming with soulful positive vibes,"
commented okayplayer.com poster TariqIZkingg215.
